A hub for fun, learning, and lots of creativity this month!

Music and Community

Dosbarth Dulyn had a fun-filled morning before the Easter holidays learning how to play the Glockenspiel. A great effort by everyone and amazing concentration!

Also, Dosbarth Melynllyn had a lovely little session in the company of the Elderly Club. Thank you to them for the invitation, the welcome, and the sweets! Well done to the children for singing and playing nursery rhymes so well.

Young Engineers' Challenge

The children of Dosbarth Geirionydd were given a challenge by Mr Jones to create a model of the Empire State Building using spaghetti, marshmallows, tape, blue tack, and paper. The tower had to be sturdy, tall, and able to stand on its own!

Easter Fair and Thanks

A heartfelt thank you to the Friends of the School for organising our Easter Fair. We managed to raise £430 towards the School Fund! Thank you to the families for your support and to the staff who helped.

Thanks also to Reverend Owain Davies for inviting Dosbarth Dulyn to Tal-y-Bont Chapel to learn about the Easter story. Well done to the children for their excellent behaviour.

Science and Spring Learning

After singing 'Dacw Mam yn Dwad' Dosbarth Melynllyn developed their scientific skills by investigating which bag is waterproof. They discovered that only the plastic bag holds water!

Dosbarth Crafnant developed their learning about Spring through a variety of activities inside and outside the classroom, including sketching flowers and spring objects, painting, and observing and creating "magic tea" for Spring, which included spring ingredients and lovely colours.

Traditional Stories

Dosbarth Melynllyn’s theme for the Summer Term  is Traditional Stories, starting with the tale of Little Red Riding Hood. The children have enjoyed being creative by designing 'Get Well' cards for Grandma and practicing their writing skills by drafting a shopping list for her picnic.

Dosbarth Crafnant have also been listening to a traditional story  - The Three Little Pigs, and have already been developing their learning in a variety of areas through practical experiences. They are able to retell the story in Welsh with actions and props and have even put the story in order by programming the Bee Bot!

Fire Safety

We had a very interesting visit from Gwawr of the Fire Service. Well done to all the children for listening so attentively to the presentation and for asking very intelligent questions about fire safety.

Magazine Project

Ioan, Alex, Lleucu and Lucie from Dosbarth Geirionydd  had a fantastic opportunity to visit Ysgol Bro Gwydir recently. They collaborated with other local pupils to create a magazine themed "Wales and Llanrwst". They were excellent ambassadors for our school, and we look forward to seeing the final edition!

In the Garden - Dosbarth Geirionydd

Our gardening sessions with Sue and Anna have had a successful start! The children have been exploring the field to discover mini-beasts, as well as helping to tidy and weed the wild garden. Our next project is building bug hotels using natural materials and recycled plastic bottles.
