Looking Smart!

The Three Little Pigs Fun in Class Crafnant!

As part of their learning Dosbarth Crafnant have been bringing the story of the Three Little Pigs to life. The children had fantastic fun building their very own little houses using a wide variety of materials. Then came the big challenge – testing to see if their houses could withstand the huffing and puffing of the Big Bad Wolf!

Alongside developing their building and design skills, this task has been a wonderful way to develop the children's Welsh vocabulary. They have been practicing adjectives  to describe their designs and the properties of the materials used.

Powering Our Knowledge
Recently we welcomed Rob and Michelle from RWE Dolgarrog to our school. They delivered an engaging presentation about our local Hydro Power Station, teaching us how water is transformed into clean, renewable energy.

Staying Safe Near the Water
Alongside the science of power, the team shared a vital safety message. They highlighted the hidden dangers of the fast-flowing gorge running right next to the Dolgarrog Disaster Memorial Gardens.

Football fever has officially arrived in our classrooms!
The children in Dosbarth Melynllyn , Dosbarth Geirionydd and  Dosbarth Dulyn recently had a wonderful opportunity to learn all about the upcoming UEFA European Under-19 Championship. This major international football tournament is coming directly to our local area in North Wales! During the presentation by representatives of the FAW they discovered facts about the tournament and even got the exciting chance to see the cup trophy and imagine what it would feel like to win the entire event.
